We had purchased new appliances for our kitchen and needed two cabinets altered to allow space for the dishwasher and over-the-stove microwave. Marc Carrillo responded to our request, looked at the job, and we agreed to his hourly rate.
In our discussions with him while he was altering the cabinets, we realized the extent of his knowledge and decided to have him update the countertop, linoleum, sink, and install all of the new appliances. We also asked him to replace the old bathroom tub faucets and shower head, and to re-install our tub/shower doors (which we had done incorrectly). Our duplex was built in the 50s, so there were some challenges with remodeling; Marc was familiar with the problems of older houses and knew exactly what he needed to do.
Marc was extremely helpful with suggestions of the types of materials to use that were within our budget, and with a color scheme that would match the rest of the kitchen that was not being updated.
We are very happy with Marc's work, and our updated kitchen is beautiful. Marc has an extensive inventory of tools, including many types of power tools, and he did everything himself: electrical, plumbing, hand cutting and laying tile, and making trim to fit some very awkward spaces. We will definitely contact Marc at Tight Lines Construction for our next project.

Marc Carrillo is a true professional. He installed our security camera system swiftly. We have been pleased for quite some time. Recently we had a serious issue with our plumbing. Marc immediately came to our rescue and fixed the problem. During the investigation of our issue he kept us notified while he was working on the problem. We used Marc on a second project, an in-law unit re model. Marc used his skills to create plan drawings, interacted with the city and did all the demo and construction. When problems came up he offered solutions and we found him easy to work with.

I first used TLC to repair some interior doors that no longer stayed closed. Marc came out and fixed those and then.... I used TLC for my only bath remodel. What a beautiful bathroom now!!!!! Marc and his team did a down-to-the-studs remodel of my bathroom. It's so pretty now that I'm putting pics on Houzz. The price was upfront, clear, affordable and everything was in writing. They are absolute professionals with years of experience. After the demo was done, they corrected the poor plumbing and non-compliant-to-code electrical issues found. Marc is great at communicating any issues I needed to make a decision on and he offered helpful advice on tile, grout, fixtures and placement of all the above. It was a pleasure having Marc and crew work in my home since they're fun, personable guys. They always left the place clean at the end of the day and were nice enough to put my toilet back on every night. Marc Carrillo and Tight Lines Construction have been a huge help for us here at The Light House Farmstead. Marc installed new propane plumbing for us and relocated our propane tank. He is so dedicated that he happily poured the new concrete pad for the tank in the pouring rain!! Instead of postponing, he stepped up and knocked out the work for us during poor weather and we had heat back on in the house for our family and guests without delay. He communicated clearly what needed to get done, was prompt, and we are overjoyed with the results!! Marc got our old propane furnace working in our downstairs space too!We had him back to install a new water heater in our Yurt, which came out beautiful! He advised us on how the copper plumbing upgrades and insulation will ensure we get the best use out of our unit and it lasts. Marc is so knowledgeable and creative in his work. Would recommend him in a heartbeat.

Marc came out to make several large and small improvements to my home: roof repair, drywall surfacing, electrical work and more. He was punctual, polite and very detail oriented. His workmanship was very precise and skilled. All of his work was done very profesionally and I would even venture to say bordering on perfection since he takes such great care in doing things right. He knew how to do every project I could throw at him and could share a lot of experience around it as well. He offered me some better ideas on how to achieve some of my goals for improvements around the house and wound up doing the work for me. Now I have a new and better performing fan in my bathroom, great lighting all over my home, even in the closets and under the shelves in my kitchen with fun touch dimmers or doorjam switches which make the lighting turn on when I open the closet door. I love this feature. I have new power to my island as well. I am a happy customer.

tight line construction added a shower to our down stairs bathroom. The job was completed in a timely manner. A few delays, however, that is construction. All delays were communicated. The job has turned out beautiful. Very happy MARK WAS ALWAYS POLITE AND ON TIME.

To say that Marc is by far the best contractor I've ever worked with is an understatement. After interviewing more than 7 contractors for a job, Marc stood out for his professionalism, expertise and experience.
Marc was honest, punctual and above all, his work is absolute quality. My roommates and I were blown away by the level of his work and will absolutely be using him for any other project that may come up.

Of course, there were some surprises lurking behind the walls (as might be expected in a nearly 100 year old home), which required some extra attention- including replacement of a portion of the foundation (eek!). Marc was very helpful in keeping us informed of things as they came up, and happy to give us daily walkthroughs. Unfortunately, due to these issues, the project took longer than expected and exceeded the initial estimate. However, despite this, Tight Lines deserves 5 stars. My husband and I (and our in-laws) are extremely pleased with the result!

Marc has the ability to combine design and function which led to the custom glass-block & shower door bath that I envisioned. Two glass companies said hanging the doors from the glass-block walls couldn't be done. Marc made it happen & my bathroom looks as good today as it did the day he finished, over eight years ago.
